FWLA continues to focus on Los Angeles based designers while bringing a very small group of international brands who are committed to supporting the LA market. Ted Baker has had interest in sponsoring the opening gala for numerous seasons but FWLA has spent the past year ensuring that Ray Kelvin (the notoriously media shy founder of Ted Baker) supports the burgeoning LA market by making his presence on runway.
UK designer David Reiss may also show his men’s line. REISS, which is predominately a women’s contemporary line has expanded with an incredible men’s line and younger women’s label to support plans for rapid expansion in the US market. REISS has one of the largest stores on Robertson Blvd. smack dead in the middle of the famed West Hollywood shopping district. It sits adjacent to Ted Baker and the location previously occupied by Ralph Lauren. REISS has numerous stores on the east coast, as well.
