Growing up in New York, Minan Wong dreamed up clothes she couldn’t have and clothes that didn’t exist. She fell in love with Chanel, Prada, Gucci, and Valentino and sketched her way to FIT, where she designed a jacket made from a recycled IKEA rug. That jacket was a pivotal moment in her career. It was cheerful, eco-friendly, and had a worldly appeal, ultimately winning the UNESCO and Felissimo International Competition. Mimi’s career has been growing for over 18 years, having worked for her idol Donna Karan and the wonderful team at Eileen Fisherdesigns. Minan’s designs have also been shown at the Louvre in Paris and covered by Women’s Wear Daily and The Daily News.
