Numerous stores have moved away from Robertson Blvd. but some FWLA research suggests that they may have acted a little too soon. With the major $750MM renovation of Westfield’s Century City shopping mall, many Angelino’s, who in recent years have avoided frequently shopping on Robertson due to the utter lack of parking, may return during the 18-month Westfield project. If the City of West Hollywood can help the remaining retailers ease parking woes and keep notable brands from migrating to the almost equally difficult Melrose Ave. parking-ticket corridor.
FWLA research continues to suggest that city revenue from citations can be counter productive by discouraging locals from shopping at small businesses in areas where cities lack adequate infrastructure.
